Parting is such sweet sorrow. Today a Cogeco rep is coming by the house to install their ‘Digital Home Phone Service’. We have made our last ‘land line’ call from the house and ventured into the world of VOIP. F U Bell, you don’t control me any longer. Goodbye Primus your long distance rates are no longer needed. Since all of Heidi’s family lives in the US and we will have free US calling it only makes sense. Should be fun.
I will have start my reading on how to abuse the system. I am sure some sort of combination of this service, my Linksys WRT54GL router (the one you can easily run linux on) and open source PBX software Asterisk will allow me to do some cool stuff.

My site has been bombarded with comment spam this weekend. Almost 300 spam messages were blocked by Akismet but this one apparently snuck through. I feel popular though.
