Identify Yourself

I have had the same ATM card for many years.  It is really starting to show it’s age.  Over the last couple of months it has been slowly dying.  For some reason I have always had problems getting my bank card to work at Best Buy and Future Shop, this may be some sort of fail safe Heidi had set up.  When I bought my TV a while back the customer service dude applied a piece of clear packing tape to my card and trimmed it up all nice for me.  I guess this was the permanent version of putting the card in a plastic bag a swiping it.  This actually fixed my issues for a couple of months.

Getting ready for the big poker game this past weekend, my card was rejected by 2 different ATMs.  Then earlier this week the POS terminal at an Oil Change place wouldn’t work.  So I figured I needed to make arrangements to get a new one.  I didn’t have much time to get to an actual bank (plus the actual TD branch I use has the worst hours in the country) so I tried to do it over the phone.

Well for my own protection I was unable to be helped.  I could not answer enough of the CS reps questions about my account with TD to process my request (to have a new card sent to the address on record).  He suggested I go to my branch and provide photo id.  So now I have to try to get to my branch before it closes at 2pm (weekdays … but they are open from 11:30-12:45 on Saturday) because I didn’t know which services I was signed up for at TD (the answer was Chequing Account, Line Of Credit, TD Visa, Mortgage and 3 RRSP … I missed one of the RRSPs because it only have 7 cents in it and should actually be closed), I didn’t know the interest rate of my mortgage off the top of my head (variable btw) and my current place of employment does not match what they have on record for me.  Sometimes I hate humans.

In other news … there is a new poll up.  NHL07 won the past poll (and that is what I pretty much decided on for my next purchase anyway … so that we can play our drafted teams against each other, just like the old days).  Also, DOOM is now available on XBOX Live Arcade for 800 points.  How awesome is that?
