I am a little behind with my time sensitive content. Wednesday was Eric’s (my godson … how mature sounding for me) first birthday. We went over to Sean and Janine’s house for cake shortly after I got home from work. It was pretty fun and the cake was excellent (sugar much?). Travis had a good time too. There were 4 kids there all within a year or so of each other. It is funny to watch how shy and quiet Travis becomes around other people.
A side effect of this visit was I managed to have my first hands on experience with the new Nintendo Wii, since Sean does indeed have one. I must say it does indeed seem really fun. I only managed to play the Baseball and Tennis games but I quite enjoyed myself. I did find a problem with baseball since I bat left handed and the game only seems to support right handed batting. I am sure there is a setting to change or a button to press but I couldn’t find it during my limited play. I hope the crowd of children and parents understood that I am not the best switch hitter around. I bat for average from the right but all my power comes from the left. The strangest part of the whole Wii thing … Heidi wants one, seemingly much more then I do.
Last night we celebrated the American Thanksgiving (since Heidi is American and I sort of am as well … but we will save that story for another post). I like to call it TG2. Who am I to argue with a second round of turkey and stuffing. But a big Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers … inventing a holiday that revolves around eating and football … brilliant!
Tomorrow (Saturday the 25th) Travis turns 8 months old. Time does fly by really quickly. He has grown up so fast … all of the cliches are true. This is especially strange since sometimes (especially the nights that he doesn’t sleep well) it seems like time is traveling in reverse. But when I stop and look back, or see old pictures, I am really blown away.

Just to clarify, during the 5 hour setup process of the Wii, Sean had to fill out his login info. When you log into Wii sports as “Sean” he bats right, plays golf right, etc. I also bat left and found it difficult to swing right. You however missed out on the gold which was Mr. P boxing.

That set up info must have been while I was doing my Graham/Matt impression. (Honestly, I thought I only missed watching the “Updating” screen.)
Has anybody else hit a home run?

I can’t wait until Jay blows out a knee playing virtual bowling.
