The softball team is doing well and we are having fun.  We are 9 weeks into the season and our record is a perfect 0-8 with a rain out.  We may not be setting the league on fire but I am sure we manage to have the most fun and set the record this week with the largest fan draw.  We filled both sets of bleachers and with 6+ mothers on hand we are most certainly Your Mom’s Favourite Team.

As far as the most important thing in my life … Travis’ development is coming along nicely.  Using a image of the classic Yin-Yarr symbol (sample below) he can easily identify a Ninja and a Pirate.  I am so proud.

Last year Kobayashi reign was ended by American super eater Joey Chesnut.  We covered this here. There were questions about a possible injury that affected last years performance.

Well the re-match is over and Joey Chesnut has come out on top again.  This year in a thrilling battle that ended tied at 59 hot dogs and then went to a 5 hot dog eat off.

Once again, congrats to these true heroes.

In other eating news, I am down 9 pounds since Sunday.  I haven’t had any real craving.  So far so good.

So far, so good.  We started on Sunday (at 251.8 lbs) and in just two days in I have lost 5 pounds.  Of course I can’t count how many times I have lost these particular pounds.  So far no real cravings or anything so hopefully we can keep up with it.  The only thing that concerns me a little is the protein content.  It pretty much comes from soy milk and nuts and thats it.  Arrgh, the life or a vegetarian.  After the initial 3 weeks we can introduce meat again (more fish and chicken then beef or pork).

Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice + Table Spoon Of Olive Oil + Water -> We don’t really know the purpose of this.  We guess it is to make anything else you eat taste good, cause this is pretty nasty.

Fruit Smoothy - Fresh Banana, Strawberries, Soy Milk, Orange Juice + Wheat Germ, Flax Seed, Sunflower Seed

Slice of whole grain toast

Low Sugar Cereal w/Soy Milk (I have chosen Cheerios)

We will see how we do.  At 5 pounds every 2 days Boyd and Graham better get their cheque books ready just in time for Vegas cause they may be paying up from our weight loss bet.  Okay, I don’t expect to lose 40 pounds in 2 months, but I wouldn’t get upset.

During this weekends softball game I came up to the plate for my second at bat.  The bases were loaded and we were really in need of some runs (it was 3-0 for the other team in the bottom of the 3rd inning).  I managed to swing at several terrible pitches and I managed to strike out (the third out of the inning no less).  That’s right, I struck out in casual league softball.

I have brought shame to my family and friends.  Plus you my fans as well.  I apologize.  I know that is not enough but it is all I have.  If you want to stop following my blog now I will understand.

This now ranks as my most embarrassing moment.  Bumping, strolling out of the stall and realizing you have been taking a dump (sorry this may seem like a crass description but it is actually scientifically accurate) in the womans washroom of the public library.   Maybe one day I will weave you that fine tale.

Once again I probably should be apologising for not keeping up with posts but I am not going to.  How dare you judge me.  I guess I owe you your money back.  I still contend that this blog provides tremendous entertainment value for the dollar.

Life continues to be busy.  Travis is easily the funniest kid around.  As long as he isn’t funnier then I am, we won’t have to brawl.  I am once again just floating around at the same weight in the 250 area.  Again I will promise that I will re-focus myself on losing weight and living right. 

Our incredible softball team is 0-4 with a run differential of -46.  We are the team that is the best at losing holding down the 20th spot of 20 teams.  Our fielding is coming around and our bats are due so I am predicting a win this Sunday!  Word in the league is we are the team having the most fun.  I totally agree with general opinion.

TV has pretty much dried up.  American Gladiators, So You Think You Can Dance and Last Comic Standing are the shows helping me get through.  World Series Of Poker 2008 just started and has been pretty exciting.

One thing that I mentioned was going on was our Co-Ed softball team. Our first game is this weekend. We (Your Mom’s Favourite Team) are playing against Corona. I don’t know what to say about this. It is like playing against one of your best friends. I think our team will be decent. We won’t totally stink, we won’t tear up the league. I guarantee that we will be the most fun and we have the most tubby guys (or guys who’s heads won’t fit in batting helmets).

Our team imposes harsh penalties on it’s players for missing practices. Missing a practice costs you $5k or a round of beer. I consider the last 3 weeks ‘official’ practices as I actually sent out emails and everything. Here are you league leaders in fines.
